John was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Northumberland Lodge Number 17, Miramichi Chapter Number 44 of the Eastern Star, Highland Society of NB in Miramichi and Derby Seniors. He was the organist at St. Mark’s United Church for many years and also a choir member at St. Andrew’s United Church for many years.
He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Mossman; one daughter: Sheila and one son: Reinhardt of Norway; one step-daughter Judy Carpenter (Bruce) of N.S.; two step-sons Wayne Pitman (Brenda) and Gary Pitman (Gloria) all of N.S.; one brother: Robert McDonald (Joanne) of Miramichi; one step-daughter-in-law Kimberly Turnbull of Ottawa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Una Pitman, step-sons Neil Pitman and John W. Turnbull.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Please Note: There will be a Masonic Service held on Friday evening at 6:30 pm and an Eastern Star Service will be held at 6:45 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Miramichi on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery later in the spring.
