Nancy Leah Wetmore

1927-2010

Nancy Leah Wetmore
The death of Nancy Wetmore of Hampton, wife of the late Edwyn C. Wetmore, occurred July 19, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born April 26, 1927 in Llandyssul, Wales, daughter of the late Richard and Anne (Thomas) Jones.

Nancy came to Canada with her family in 1929. She graduated from St. Martins’ Superior School and Provincial Normal School. She taught school at Grand Manan, Bains Corner, MacDonald Consolidated, Princess Elizabeth and Hampton Elementary.

She was a member of the Anglican Parish of Central Kings, Order of the Eastern Star, Church of the Ascension A.C.W. and Hampton Seniors. Her greatest joys were time spent with her family, quilting and playing cards.

Nancy is survived by her son, Richard Wetmore (Mary Anne), Quispamsis; daughters, Susan Nelson (Randall), Hampton, Norma Becker (Thomas), Calgary; grandchildren, Michael Wetmore and Steven Wetmore, Jennifer Nelson, Kira Becker and Aurora Becker; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother John Jones, and sisters, Margaretta Green, Rachel Jones and Elizabeth Foster.

Resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506) 832-5541, with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, July 22, 2010 at All Saints Anglican Church, Clifton Royal with The Rev. Canon Don Trivett officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
